Local officials in Bamyan province have said New Zealand reconstruction team with cooperation of U.K and U.S development administrations has provided 40 tractors for Bamyan farmers.
Bamyan governor deputy Mohammad Asif Moballegh after the tractors were rendered to Agriculture department of Bamyan said Bokhdi news agency,” New Zealand reconstruction team authorities have promised to allocate $5 to $10 million for agriculture and electricity enhancement during the next three years.”
Sicilia New Zealand development administration chief said the reconstruction time will operate up to 2014 in Bamyan.
Engineer Taher Ataee Bamyan agriculture chief said Bokhdi news agency,” Up to now 20 tractors were submitted to Bamyan agriculture department and other 20 tractors will be arrived to this province.”
According Ataee there are 120 active agricultural cooperatives all over Bamyan which are equipped with agricultural machines. The cooperatives have improved people’s agriculture in Bamyan.
In the main time Sicilia New Zealand development administration chief said Bokhdi news agency,” New Zealand reconstruction team will operate in Bamyan up to 2014. The focus of the team is on agriculture development.”
He added,” We are trying to replace the traditional agriculture with mechanistic agriculture in Bamyan.”
It is worth mentioning that Bamyan agriculture officials have said the tractors will be divided among Waras, Panjab, and Yakowlang districts farmers in the coming spring.
