Ghairat Bahir, the chief of Hizb-i-Islami peace committee and a prominent member of this party, claimed that the peace plan was submitted to Afghan government and Kabul perusals the plan. Mr. Bahir told Bokhdi News Agency,” Hizb-i-Islami ‘s peace plan was submitted to Afghan government during the second phase of negotiations (on December).”
Though Ghairat Bahir did not emphasize on peace plan it seems that Hizb-i-Islami insisted on International forces pullout from Afghanistan, running new election, and imparting Hizb-i-Islami in the government.
The exact time for starting the third phase of negotiations was not released by Bahir.
Bahir said government of Afghanistan and Hizb-i-Islami peace committee have exchanged their ideas during the second phase of negotiations on December. Hizb-i-Islami committee, headed by Bahir, was sent to Kabul on July 2011. The members of this committee had meetings and negotiations with President Hamed Karzai, NATO-led Forces commanders, and United States ambassador in Kabul.
Previously Hizb-i-Islami has announced that for renouncing violence in Afghanistan they have started peace talks with Kabul.
Coinciding with Hizb-i-Islami decision, Taliban has also decided to establish the political office in Qatar and has started the peace negotiations with U.S. Starting the peace talks has made Afghans optimist regarding to stability and peace in Afghanistan.
Starting the third phase of peace negotiations
In the past ten years this is the first drastic taken step for renouncing violence and making peace between Hizb-i-Islami and Afghan government.
Ghairat Bahir told Bokhdi News Agency that the first and second phase of negotiations’ outcomes were satisfactory. The third phase of negotiations would be started, added Bahir. The exact time for starting the third phase of negotiations was not released by Bahir though he said Hizb-i-Islami is waiting for Kabul’s feedback.
Specifying any place or region for peace talks would be indifferent to them (the members of peace committee), said the distinguished member of Hizb-i-Islami.
Rejecting correlation with Taliban
The Taliban negotiations took place with United States while the Hizb-i-Islami peace talks were started with government of Afghanistan.
Lack of politic power has dissuaded Taliban to start negotiations with Afghan government, Taliban has announced.
Ghairat Bahir said that Hizb-i-Islami‘s peace talks are not coordinated with Taliban. He continued,” We have acted independently and Hizb-i-Islami does not flow the Taliban talks and their mechanism.”
